YKI test practice, intermediate level (B1)
Get ready for the Finnish YKI test
Kielikoetreeni is a practice service for the intermediate level of the Finnish YKI test. The intermediate test assesses levels 3 and 4, and many people aim for level 3. In spring 2027, all Finnish YKI tests are taken on a computer. So you practise in the same way: you speak into a microphone and type on a keyboard.
The practice pass is still being built, and you cannot buy it yet. You can join the early list now, and two free practice tools work today.
What the practice pass includes
The practice pass is valid for 90 days. It will include:
- Speaking practiceYou record your answer in the same way as in the digital test. You get an estimate of your level, feedback and a model answer.
- Writing practiceYou type the task on a computer. You get an estimate of your level and a corrected version of your text.
- Full practice testAll four subtests with a timer: listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension and writing.
- Exam date calculator and reminderYou choose your test date. The service reminds you about registration and spreads your practice over the weeks that are left.
- Feedback also in your own languageYou get feedback in Finnish and also in another language, for example English. The answers on the early list help us decide which languages come first.
When the service opens, it will also have a free 10-minute mini test with two speaking tasks and one writing task. You get an estimate of your level (2, 3 or 4) and three things that are worth practising.
The estimate is not an official YKI result. It is made by AI. Kielikoetreeni is not a service of the Finnish National Agency for Education (Opetushallitus).
Before the practice pass opens, a teacher of Finnish as a second language will assess the same sample answers as the AI. We will open the practice pass only when the two assessments match well enough.
